Well, the first one is done. So I’m off to a good start.
I had this linen/cotton blend in my stash (a thrift shop find) and thought it would be an even better start to use that first. I was going to do something more intricate, but the uneven yarn worked better in a simple design (I frogged my first attempt).
Hmn. I guess that’s all I have to say about it right now. So, so busy, but I can’t seem to get myself talking about the hows and whys before the thing I’m so busy preparing for is actually a fact. So stay tuned for that… 😉
Edited to add: Want to join me in my challenge to knit 52 hats/one hat every week (if you start later) this year? Let me know in the comments. If enough people decide to join I could create a weekly or monthly link-up. Or I could just be the mad hat knitter again and do a hat link up every week, without commitment to a challenge. Could be fun. Any thoughts on this?
Linking up with Frontier Dreams’ Crafting On
This was a fun visit from crafting on! I like the idea of 52 hats- and from scrolling down your blog- I think you could do it! Although you have to get better at snapping pictures of them BEFORE they are snatched away. ;-)Do you have a ravelry account? It's free- lots of free patterns too- and my favorite part about it is that you can upload pictures (really easily) from your blog and see, at a glance, all the projects you've done. This is particularly fun when you usually give them away. I usually forget all about them when I don't see them. As a homeschooling Mama of five children and a slow knitter it sometimes feels like I don't ever accomplish anything. Looking at my projects page makes me happy because I can see that in fact I DO.Good luck on your knitting and personal goals in 2018!

Welcome! Ha, yes, I should take pictures immediately after finishing them ;-)Yes, I have a ravelry account (maggienas), but I still have to add my latest projects. I deleted my former account last year, but I plan to keep it up this time (and maybe add my earlier projects too).

Love the idea of knitting 52 hats in a year. I might join you on that challenge. I love your first. Love the texture of the yarn.

Oh, that would be nice! A challenge like this is always more fun if others are working with you. I could even create a linkup if more people want to join. (edited the post to add that)

Ha, yes! I do wonder why I get myself into these things. I guess I like a challenge. And if I fail it's a good lesson to accept that you can't do it all…

That's a great goal too! Hats can be tricky the first time.

Hello, I would like to join in. It would be lovely to try and do something with other knitters. I don't know a single person in the area I live in or any of my friends that knit. It's just me. I really enjoy it and I find it helps me relax in stressful situations such as Doctor visits which I have been going to a lot lately. Knitting really helps my while I'm waiting in line for other things too.Best Regards,Rose

Glad to have you with us! This is what I love about internet. I never had knitters and crafters around me before I discovered this community. It's so inspiring! And yes, knitting helps in stress. I have knit many hats while waiting in hospitals and other stressful situations. Feel free to add blogposts (or instagram pictures) to one of the Monthly Mad Hatters' Link Party. Or just add a comment if you don't have a blog or social media, I'd love to hear how you're doing.
