Little blackbird

I was planning to keep blogging this week, but I have been so busy! And to top it all off I have had a terrible headache the last three days. So I just popped in to wish you all a very good weekend!
Hope be back on regular blogging next week!

In the garden

There is actually something blooming out there!

I have no idea what kind of plant this is, although I did put it in myself. But I do like seeing those little pink flowers in the wintery dullness of my garden…

I am sorry for disappearing on you yesterday. I was too tired to post. I had to drop D. and E. off at school for a trip to London at 3 AM Tuesday. Needless to say that was a bit too much lack of sleep on top of the physical problems I’m having lately.
My house is in a state of total despair. I can’t remember the last time I have made such a mess! Life seems to get in the way when I try to clean up. Like yesterday. I spent the day sleeping and reading on the couch, unable to do anything else. And today it’s not looking good again. I had to do some shopping with Miriam this morning and we have to do some more later today (she forgot to buy presents for a friend she is meeting on Sunday). I am going to try and do a little bit of cleaning up after I finish this post. I think.
Anyway. I am not going to show you pictures of my home right now. We’ll do that when I have cleaned up and started to bring in Christmas decoration, okay?
I went outside again for inspiration on today’s picture. It’s cold but sunny. Look at that amazing blue sky!

Outside

Looking for something to take a picture of today, I realized how important nature really is for me. Even when I feel exhausted (it comes and goes and comes again) I always find something to hold on to in nature.

The ever changing looks of the cherry tree for instance. Now bare, but still beautiful. Promising a new cycle of green leaves and white blossom in spring, after some much needed rest.

And the happy colors of the violet. It is growing safely in my little garden, a small strip next to the house. Enjoying a bit of rain, basking in the few rays of sun, sheltered from too much cold and wind by the walls of our house.

Nature always helps me to look beyond my self pity, promising renewal, reminding me to make the best of this cold, gray and wet season.

So every day, even when it is cold, dark and rainy, I go outside, sometimes only for a few moments, to connect and feel the comfort nature can bring.
