Of course I liked that pattern. So I’m already done with it. I like hats like this. Rather simple and still not boring. Too bad the yarn is too fuzzy to actually see the fake cabling in the border. Next time (there will be a next time, no doubt about that) I’ll use different yarn.

In my knitting basket

This used to be my knitting basket, but the cat decided it’s his place to sleep and he’s not amused (understatement) when I try to get to my knitting.
So I decided it was time to find myself a new basket. Not an easy task, since I needed something with a lid to prevent the cat from moving his naps into my knitting.

I found the perfect one and it’s already quite full, since I had a case of startitis.

The purple cardigan I started last december. It’s coming to an end, but I wanted to work on something else too (I heard that helps with the pain in my hands).

Soulemama released a new hat pattern. And since I loved the other one so much, I had to try this one asap.

I found this real wool at the thriftstore, two colors of the same brand. I want to make a sweater from it. For me. Again. I know, so selfish.

But this one will be for my husband. I am planning to make a sweater for every one, but I’m not sure that will really happen.

I also am into crochet again. I’m not very good at it, but I like making granny squares. And I loved these colors together, so I decided to make a giant granny to make a spread for our bed. I have my work cut out for me for a while…

Also in the basket: a zippered pouch a dear internet friend send me, that I use to hold my notions.

Knitting again

We had a few stressful days last week. And I was itching to knit. Yes, that sounds crazy, but it relaxes me. So I went to the shop and got me some yarn and needles. I had to buy something, because I got rid of everything I had last December. A bit too extreme, but that hand hurt so much and I felt so sad to continue to see all those great yarns that I wasn’t supposed to work with.
But six months rest did me good. I am careful, not knitting for hours and hours like I used to, but I can knit! Without pain! I am so happy!

Lots of hats and some bad news

Hold on to your seats, I’ve been knitting hats like crazy lately.
Look.

Eight in total, so that would be enough to gift for Sinterklaas (like the scarfs a few years ago), if I skip my own husband and children.

I also made great progress on the schrap blanket.

But… although I’ve been knitting less and less lately, my hands still hurt a lot. So much that I can hardly drive, take pictures or type.
So this was the last knitting update for a while. I’m going to pack up my things, get them out of sight (or I’ll pick something up anyway) and find myself something else to do.
