I can come up with so many captions for this picture and I could connect it to so many thoughts about feeling safe and cozy and things like that, but I thought I’d let it speak for itself…

I took my camera to the beach that is closest to us (a 7-minute walk), to show you the blueness of the water. and the sky But I guess I jinxed the weather because when we walked down the clouds came in and both the sea and the sky turned gray(ish).
But this is Curaçao, so there was still a lot of colors to be found…

This happened last week and no, he wasn’t able to repair it (nor will the pro mechanics be, at least not for a price that will be worth it). We’re driving a rental now and halfway into buying an affordable, but reliable secondhand car.
Let’s hope this week will be a smoother one… (not going to list everythng else that happened, but oh my… – just small annoyances though, no big sad happenings)
Wishing you all a great week!
Street art is a really big thing here. There are even guided tours that take you to places you wouldn’t be able to find on your own. I want to take one of those tours someday, but for now I’m just taking pictures wherever I find these paintings.

Another thing on my list: the garden. Not really a problem though, I love working in the garden. It relaxes me, so I guess I should aim to do something in the garden everyday to take the edge of everyhing else on my to-do list. It’s definitely one of the things I will miss most when we go back to Curaçao.
If only the weater was a little bit more cooperative…
We’re still in the colder parts of the year here in Holland. Lots of rain and it’s quite cold to be outside (especially if you lived on a tropical island for ten weeks) Trees are still mostly bare and on first sight not much is happening in the garden yet.
But if you look closer, you find that, in fact, things are growing.
Three spring surprises I found in the garden last week:

Right now I am…
:: thinking I should not be writing a right now post a few days ahead of time
:: trying to accept that I have to do it this way to prevent myself from stressing out
:: smiling at myself for knowing that my word for 2018 “Relax” is chosen so well
:: feeling sad that the last two weeks were far from relaxed, but trying to accept that I’m a work in progress and that’s alright. I’m only human
:: still feeling a bit uneasy about the things happening in my life right now, but also feeling excited about it.
:: promising to talk about these things next week. I’m not trying to be secretive, I’m just having a hard time with some changes around here and need to work things out before telling the whole wide world about it 😉
:: finishing my second hat
:: looking forward to casting on for the next one
:: reading a cozy mysterie (The Patchwork Puzzler) and enjoying it very much
:: not even able to remember how many times I tried to take a picture every day. I never made it through a whole year. But it’s fun to try.
Here’s my first week.
I was going to pick a favorite, but I can’t. I like the one of my glasses on my planner, but I also think the one from my parent’s church is quite nice. And that leaf on my honeysuckle (way too early!) isn’t too bad either. What’s your favorite?
:: wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
I love taking pictures here (I posted some of them last year too), but I’m still feeling awkward to take close-ups. One day I will work up the courage to aks people if they mind I photograph them and their goods…
Mondays are my busiest days most weeks. Since we’re still always in the middle of a big home renovation project while living and working here, Mondays are for picking up the mess we made the weekend before.
This weekend we tore out both the ceiling and the floors in our tiny office and broke down a wall seperating it from another tiny room. In time we will have a bigger, beautiful space for the three of us (our youngest girl works with her father in his IT business), but for now we’re working on bare concrete floors and looking at unfinished ceilings and walls. We could call it the industrial look and leave it that way. But hmn… no 😉
Anyway it’s kind of silly to add “write something for the blog” and “take good pictures for the blog” to the Monday list. I have plenty of other (more important) things to do. But that’s what I’ve been saying for weeks now and I really want to get back to it.
On my camera I found these self portraits I took a few weeks ago. Silly pictures actually, but I quite like them. It’s just me, taking pictures of flowers as I often do.
