A dress. No, a bag.

I decided to try and use a real pattern for a change. It will be a really nice dress once I finish it. But oh my, so many pieces.

After I finally cut out all those little pieces I lost confidence and decided to make a bag.
I wanted something different, so I used a zipper for the first time. It took me a while to figure out the construction, but I think that worked out well.

A bag for my other girl

Yes, they are twins. No, they don’t like the same things at all. I love that, since we’ve always tried to raise them as individuals. E. wanted something simple and something purple. She can use it two ways, but I’m pretty sure she prefers the first option.

A bag for my girl

My girls told me they’d like new bags too. And since I liked making the first one, I jumped to the occasion. This one is for D. She loved the fabric when I brought it home a while ago. The only other wish she had was lots of pockets. So that’s what she got.

A bag

After the skirt, I still had enough fabric for that bag I wanted to try. A very simple pattern (more like instructions), but with a lot of possibilities.

There are a few things I’d do differently the next time, but for my very first bag, I think it turned out really well. Now I want to make more!

A skirt

I was going to try and sew a bag (saw a lot of those on the internet), but when I brought home this fabric I decided it needed to be a skirt. I hadn’t been sewing for ages, but I think I did quite well.
