Making piles
To inspire myself to finally get sewing on projects that are half-finished or not even started yet, I sorted all my fabric yesterday and made piles of projects I want to work on first.
It’s quite a lot.
:: I want to make skirts of these fabrics
:: quilts for the girls (bought that fabric last year, still not started)
:: not sure. Bags maybe. Or more quilts.
:: this will be quilt too. I think.
:: brought these from South Africa. I thought for quilts, but it’s not cotton and the prints are too big. Maybe bags. Especially the white should be fun for that.
:: a second pillowcase quilt. I really need to finish this one.
If you look close at the first picture you’ll see some blue. I added that later, to make a gift for someone. I think I’ll start with that…
A “mama” bag
Ever since I read “Handmade Home” by Amanda Soule I’ve been longing to make something from it. So yesterday I finally started making the “mama bag”. I didn’t really follow the instruction because I read it so often I thought I knew how to make it.
So it’s not exactly the same bag. Different pleads, different handle. But I do like it.
The fabric was thrifted and a disaster. My needles kept breaking on it, since it was covered with a layer of something. I don’t know what, but I think it makes it water and dirt repellent and that’s a good thing.
