Fantasy Fair dress

It’s done, just in time for the big event. It’s not too bad, I think, but I made her promise to use the same dress next year. She agreed (it was a great idea to let her work on it with me, so now she nows just how much work it was).

I had a lot more fun making a matching bag.

It was about time to do some sewing again…
I started with something that has been waiting for a while.  I promised D.  to use some of here favorite, but too small, cloths to make bags.
First: a combination of jeans (with a fun embroidered detail) and white embroidered pants.

Bags

I know, I’m a terrible blogger. I’m not sure how and what to blog, and somehow that’s when I hardly blog at all.
But I figured I might as well give you some sewing updates.

Yes, you’ve seen a bag like this before, but this time I tried to center the print. The asymetric look of the other one bothered me (perfectionist, who me?). I really like how this turned out.

And I tried a different pattern. Simple but elegant.

A request from my father, to carry his papers.

Recycling. Used to be an old polyester (so, not really wearable) blouse, now a cute little bag.

I went to a fabric market. That was fun! And of course I didn’t leave empty handed.
I can see more bags in my immediate future.

Also I’m going to try and make quilts for our bed from the fabrics on the bottom picture.
