Thrifted treasures
Growing and adding to the stash
The shawl is growing steadily.
So the stash needed some refilling.
Um, not really. But who can pass this up?
Sorted by color. And besides unusable scraps still a lot of interesting little skeins. I’m already dreaming up projects with this.
But first I’m going to leave it like it is for a while, just to enjoy those colors…

A giant table cloths with (hand?) appliqued flowers
Flanel.To make more pyajama pants.
Another apron (I need to stop buying those, I hardly ever wear them, but I love how they look). And fabric. The red is about four metres and I don’t have a clue what to do with it. Maybe bench covers and curtains for the boat?
Thrifted treasures
I read the best excuse in a comment at Soulemama’s: “oh, but buttons are so small and fabrics are flat, you can always buy those.”
So I did.
Adding to the stash
I visited a thrift shop again. And of course I didn’t leave empty handed.
:: a large duvet cover, but I think I’ll make bags of it
:: yarn. you can’t really see it in the picture, but the grey has a bit of color in it. I like that.
:: table cloth. I didn’t see the holes until I brought it home, so I’ll cut it up and make something with it.
:: a small duvet cover and matching pillow cases. To make a quilt?
My hands are itching to start working with these, but I’ll have to wait till the washing machine is done with them…
One day…
Thrifting treasures
I used to have an apron like the one on the right. I embroidered it myself when I was in elementary school. I have no idea where it is, but this one reminded me of it. The other one has an interesting design, but it also fits quite well, so I think I will try to copy it.
No, I didn’t need anymore table cloths. But these were too nice to leave behind…
Wintertime :: warm feet
(I had no idea this was going to be a series, until I started coming up with ideas for more warm and cozy pictures. I like it, it keeps me more positive about loosing the light and knowing that there will be lots of wet, cold, dark and dreary times before the days lengthen again. So now it’s a series for the rest of the week.)
Hot water bottles… We had them for the babies of course, but I gave them away when the kids grew up. We lived in warm, modern houses for years. But now we have this lovely but old and drafty house.
Temperatures are dropping and the beds are chilly at bedtime. I was looking for some extra blankets at the thriftshop, but found these. Perfect!
There was only one cozy though, so I’d better start knitting.
