wow! those are some long, sharp thorns!are they on a rose bush?my thistles are so huge and awful.i should really cut and remove (to the burn pile) some more of them today . . .

They are on a gooseberry bush. I replanted it from the roof terrace, where it never really flourished and told it this was it last chance. The thorns are growing alright, but there are no berries yet…I have a love/hate relationship with thistles. I like the flowers, but not the thorns of course.
